Oil temperature regulator (formerly Wahler)

BorgWarner (formerly Wahler) oil temperature regulators are 3/2-way valves. They consist of an aluminum housing, a regulator insert and a wax element and are precisely matched to the temperature windows of a wide range of applications. The opening temperatures range from 25 °C to 90 °C.

The aluminum housing can be installed directly in the piping system of the oil circuit. Thanks to their solid design, Wahler oil temperature regulators function independently of the installation position and static and dynamic oil pressure. They are also maintenance-free and particularly resistant to vibrations and shocks.

Oil temperature regulator: Efficient temperature control

For operators of compressor systems, the oil temperature regulator is an indispensable component that ensures the operational safety and efficiency of your machines. The regulator, also known as a thermostat, opens the small oil circuit at a defined temperature in order to cool the oil via the air/oil cooler and maintain the optimum temperature. Without this precise control, there is a risk of overheating, system shutdown or, in the worst case, complete failure.

Advantages of a high-quality oil temperature regulator:

Safe operating temperature: Prevents overheating and ensures smooth operation.

Efficient cooling: Keeps the oil temperature stable and increases the service life of the system.

Operational reliability: Regular maintenance prevents expensive breakdowns and unplanned downtimes.

Regular maintenance for maximum safety

The oil temperature regulator must be checked regularly as part of maintenance and replaced if necessary. This is crucial to ensure that the large oil circuit opens on time and overheating is prevented. High-quality temperature regulators are characterized by a robust design, high control accuracy, low pressure losses and reliable function regardless of the oil pressure.

Areas of application of the oil temperature regulator

Oil temperature regulators are used in numerous areas, including:

• Compressors

• Agricultural machinery

• Construction equipment

• Wind turbines

• Hydraulic systems

• Mechanical engineering

Thermostat-controlled regulating valves: optimal control with no effort

A thermostat-controlled regulating valve automatically regulates the oil temperature. This ensures that the system is always ready for operation without the need for manual intervention. In combination with a tank heater, the oil system is ready for immediate use even after long periods of downtime.
