Efficient leak detection with the parabolic reflector

Identifying leaks in compressed air and gas systems can be a challenge in areas that are difficult to access. That is why we offer special accessories for our LD 500/510 leak detectors to make leak detection significantly easier.

How the parabolic reflector works

The parabolic mirror is an innovative tool that bundles horizontally incident ultrasound and focuses it in the center of the mirror where the ultrasonic transducer is located. This design enables a considerable amplification of the measured ultrasound, which increases the range and at the same time ensures precise directional behavior. Ultrasound that does not arrive horizontally is not reflected back from the reflector.

Thanks to these two properties, leaks can be precisely localized over long distances.
