Why Compressed Air Treatment Is Essential
Ambient air contains up to 190 million contaminants per cubic meter. During compression, these contaminants, along with water vapor and oil aerosols, become concentrated in the compressed air—if left untreated, this leads to corrosion in the piping system, tool failures, and quality issues in the final product. The ISO 8573-1 standard defines compressed air quality in classes; the treatment stages required depend on your specific application.
Which air dryer is right for your compressor?

Other components of the processing chain
Cyclone Separator Remove condensate directly at the compressor's compressed air outlet and reduce the load on downstream dryers. Compressed Air Filters and Activated Carbon Adsorber trap dust, oil aerosols, and oil vapors. A Pressure-retention system ensures that the treatment remains effective even during plant startup, and BEKOMAT Steam Traps discharge any condensate that accumulates without any loss of compressed air.
The typical processing chain
Each component has a specific place in the installation sequence: After the compressor, the Cyclone Separator removes the coarse condensate; the compressed air tank acts as a buffer; a coalescing prefilter protects the downstream Dryer. Depending on the required purity class, the following apply: Fine Filter and Activated Carbon Adsorber, the Pressure-retention system ensures that the system is properly prepared when it is started up.
